Zürich September 13, 2024, The Nam Dinh Seminar, co-hosted by the Swiss-Viet Economic Forum (SVEF) and the Embassy of Vietnam in Switzerland, brought together Swiss, European, and Vietnamese business leaders to explore the growing investment opportunities in Nam Dinh Province, one of Vietnam’s emerging economic hubs. Held last weekend, the seminar offered a platform for meaningful discussions on how international companies can leverage the region’s potential, particularly in sectors such as clean energy, technology, and manufacturing.

The event featured remarks from H.E. Mr. Phung The Long, Ambassador of Vietnam to Switzerland, who emphasized the robust and growing economic ties between Vietnam and Switzerland. Ambassador Long highlighted the impressive growth of bilateral trade, which had tripled before the pandemic, and the significant increase in Swiss direct investment in Vietnam in recent years. He pointed out that regions like Nam Dinh provide an excellent opportunity to deepen this relationship even further. “Vietnam is rapidly becoming a key partner for Switzerland, with shared values of cooperation, peace, and development,” the Ambassador said. He emphasized that Nam Dinh is positioned to play a vital role in attracting more foreign investment into Vietnam’s growing economy.

Panelists included Ms. Jing Lu, COO of Energy Depot, and Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuong, Vietnamese Trade Counselor. The discussion focused on Nam Dinh’s future as a center for investment, particularly in sectors such as renewable energy, technology, and advanced manufacturing. Ms. Jing Lu highlighted her company’s interest in Nam Dinh’s wind energy projects, which align with the province’s strategic focus on sustainable development.
